The College of Fine Arts|University of Babylon was established in 1980/1981 under the Academy of Fine Arts at the University of Mustansiriya. In the academic year 1986/1987, its name was changed to the College of Fine Arts, and in the academic year 1988/1989.

The University of Babylon is one of the largest universities in Iraq. It is situated on the banks of the Euphrates River in the province of Babil in central Iraq. The ongoing events of the 25th Festival of the Department of Theater Arts at the College of Fine Arts at the University of Babylon, which is held under the slogan "With the works of students, theater ethics rise." The festival was attended by professors, students, and theater enthusiasts. The second day of the festival included a theatrical performance titled "Al-Masah" directed by student Mohammed Ali Mohammed and performed by a group of theater arts students. This was followed by a fashion show produced by the fashion workshop under the supervision of Dr. Asil Abdul Khaleq. Then, a play titled "Baqat Dhaw" directed by student Ali Saleh Al-Rubaie and performed by students Husni Yassin and Ibrahim Ali was presented.
